Premiere Dance Hillsborough’s Dynamics Company Dancers have just completed their season on top at Starbound Nationals at Foxwoods in Connecticut (June 24th-28th).
After competing for four days at Starbound Nationals, the Premiere team brought home 66 Elite Gold Awards (the highest Starbound National Grand Champions 2017you can get) and 4 first place overalls to: Get On Your Feet (Tap Petite), choreographed by Allie Nagy; Sophia with Tippy Toes (Tap Solo), choreographed by Allie Nagy; Sound & Color (Modern Junior), choreographed by Lisa Burton; and Jumpin’ Jack (Tap Junior), choreographed by Allie Nagy, which was the highest scoring Junior routine of the entire competition!
Premiere had 40 dances that placed in the Top 10 Overalls, 5 Audience Choice Winners, 3 Judges Awards, 15 dances that received 1st in their category, 2 Title Winners-Andrew-Mr. Teen Starbound-Not Be Down, choreographed by Andrew and Michelle Cunningham and Mia-Senior Miss Starbound- Mama choreographed by Michelle Cunningham. Six dances will perform in the Winner’s Banquet (Not Be Down, Mama, Get On Your Feet, Sound & Color, Tippy Toes, and Jumpin’ Jack).
Final Starbound National Showcase Winners:
The Company had 7 routines (the maximum allowed)
- Junior Showcase: Sound & Color, choreographed by Lisa Burton-4th Place Overall and Jumpin’ Jack, choreographed by Allie Nagy-2nd Place Overall.
- Teen Showcase: Muddy Waters, choreographed by Michelle Cunningham-7th Place Overall and Rise, choreographed by Michelle Cunningham-1st Place Overall-National Grand Champions, 3 years in a row.
- Senior Showcase: Carmen, choreographed by Colleen Guy-10th Place Overall and On The Town, choreographed by Joseph Tudor-5th Place Overall
- Production Showcase: Feel The Noise, choreographed by Corinna Ahart-2nd Place Overall
The Dynamics Company is made up of 125 talented dancers competing in 108 beautifully choreographed routines this season. Michelle Cunningham, VP of the Dynamics Company, said “For the past three years we have gone up against the best of the best at Starbound Nationals and continue to come out on top. With several of our instructors bringing home Top awards, it shows just how well rounded and diverse our staff is. I could not be more proud of everyone’s accomplishments.”
